Our beloved daughter was stillborn on her due date of May 4th, 2024. She is missed daily by her whole community.
Come join the Naomi Storykeepers Club!
Who is Naomi? She is the daughter of Nick and Jessi Summers. She was stillborn on her nerdy due date, May 4th, 2024. She is their only and oldest daughter. During her time on the inside, she often swam the amniotic seas and earned the nickname SeaMonkey by her loving parents. She is missed frequently, and her absence is noted in all settings. Her parents were looking forward to changing poopy diapers and losing years of their lives to lack of sleep. They also miss that they will never hear her giggle or call them Pa and Mommy.
What is a storykeeper? Well, Jessi (Naomi's mom) watched an animated show about people who kept the stories of Jesus around even after he ascended. So, she thinks it is fitting to see herself as Naomi's storykeeper since Naomi is not around to share her own story. A storykeeper cherishes and shares someone else's story since they cannot do so themselves. We are all storykeepers, and we hope you keep Naomi's story alive with us.
Why Naomi? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMkaE3C1JAk&ab_channel=Mob487 This video is Naomi's song; she is named after an incredible woman in the Old Testament (her name means pleasant, which her parents prayed she would be). Naomi is someone whose devotion to God was lived out so faithfully that another person wanted to follow her into inevitable poverty and hardship. Naomi lived out her faith so much so that others could see that the God she worshipped was worth being worshiped.
Why Éowyn? Please watch this- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI6ArwG-s6M&ab_channel=MedeRecord. Our daughter was a little warrior!
Both these women suffered much in their lives, so much family death, that thought is not lost of Naomi's parents. ___________________________________
Why donate? Naomi's parents have greatly benefited from the infant bereavement program's monthly meetings offered at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. We have met new friends and felt deeply cared for. These meetings mean a lot to us, and we continue to attend!
Other meaningful donations include the Gemma Relief Project; our dear friends Ricky and Chenea have chosen to dedicate some of the bundles they donate to the Phoenix Children's Hospital (to children on ECMO) in Naomi's name, and we love and appreciate their work.
