Hi, I’m McKennah, and I’m taking part in Dignity Health's Family Remembrance Run in memory of my son, Logan, who was born still on July 5, 2021, at 21 weeks and 5 days.
My pregnancy with Logan was anything but simple. Early on, a subchorionic hemorrhage set off a cascading condition called CAOS — chronic abruption-oligohydramnios sequence — which wore a hole in the amniotic sac at just 15 weeks. For over six weeks, Logan survived and my pregnancy with him continued without amniotic fluid or infection. He fought hard, and so did I. His birthday and my loss of him are both carried with me every single day.
I’m running this 5K to raise funds for Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center’s infant bereavement programs. These programs do something vital: they help bridge the gap from hospital to home, so that families leaving without their baby don’t have to navigate that grief alone. They provide comfort, guidance, and compassionate care during one of the most isolating experiences a person can face. I know firsthand how much that support matters.
Every dollar you give goes toward making sure another family feels seen, held, and not forgotten in their hardest moments. Please consider donating, and please share this page — it truly takes a community.
Together, we run for the ones who couldn’t stay. 🤍
